New Pilates For Runners & Pre/Post Natal Pilates Reformer Group Classes: Feb 2018

Hey guys, it’s Stephen and Allyson from CORE Therapy & Pilates… Happy Friday folks, I can’t believe it’s almost 6 o’clock in the evening and we’re both up here. I was about to do this little live video to announce the new group classes and in walks Allyson to catch up on some of her training on the Pilates reformer for her hours for our teacher training. So we didn’t plan on doing this, but here we are…

I want to announce a brand new Pilates Reformer class that starts on Saturday mornings at 11:30… It’s a Pre and Post Natal class and Ohara is going to be teaching it. It’s a brand new class thats designed for the pregnant ladies or the ladies that just had their babies who are ready to get some strength back and be able to manage those little babies.

Allyson has a brand new class starting as well and it’s geared to runners… so Allyson, could you tell us a bit about your class…

[Allyson] Yes, so my class, I’m super excited about it because I’m a big runner and I want to do some great Pilates work to help prevent IT band or plantar fasciitis or maybe address that if you’ve already got it. We will look at some of the common runner problems of tightness here and weakness in different places so that your run will be better…

[Stephen] and when is this class?…

[Allyson] thank you, it’s Thursday from 11 until 12… Thursdays…

[Stephen] Thursdays 11 to 12, so a brand new Runners class with Allyson, our Physical Therapist… and a brand new Pre/Post Natal class with Ohara. Come join us and get ready to get in shape and get back to running better and for you new moms or new moms to be… it’s time to get strong to manage the pregnancy or to handle the baby after you have it… alright, that’s it for today…

Stephen graduated with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1998 from LSUMC in New Orleans. Immediately interested in hands on therapy, he began to study with known manual therapist Brian Mulligan and became certified in the Maitland Australian Approach in 2003. Stephen completed a comprehensive Pilates training in Santa Monica at retroFit Pilates in 2002 and is Certified through The Pilates Method Alliance. The combined treatment of manual therapy with mind body awareness exercises using Pilates concepts was the start of his whole body treatment approach.
