How To Manage Holiday Stress? Keep Moving With Pilates & Physical Therapy

Hey, CORE family, what’s up. It’s Stephen Dunn with CORE Therapy and Pilates, in Austin, Texas and today I just wanted to come with a simple message that it’s now like full on holiday season.

Thanksgiving is a week in the rear view mirror. Christmas decorations are going up everywhere. My Christmas lights and tree is already up, and it’s the onset of really the stressful season of like a lot going on and a lot happening at one time. So, I just want to say that if you are experiencing some holiday stress already, settle down, take a deep breath and don’t let the holidays stress get in the way of your physical therapy program that you’re in, or the fitness routine that you’re involved in. So, if you’ve been taking pilates classes, and now you think that because it’s the holiday season and high stress that you don’t need these classes, or you don’t have time for these classes. This is the ultimate time that you need to take the classes, because of the stress, and because of the tension and your body will feel fantastic after it.

Or if you’re having back pain, if you’re having neck pain, knee pain, whatever’s bothering you, getting in the way of getting in and out of the car, getting up and down from the toilet, whatever is bothering you with this is now a good time to address it, because over the next month it becomes very challenging to find the time to do the things that you need to do. And, if you’re having back pain all of a sudden, this is the time to address it before the holiday season is in full effect, because it’s just starting right now. It’s not even December, right? It’s still a day or so away. I don’t know how many days away.

But anyway, I just wanted to come with that message that, take some time to breathe. Take some time to do your home program that you’ve learned from us at CORE for your problems, your conditions, whatever it is, and don’t let this stressful season get in the way of maintaining your health. This is the perfect time for your health to dip, and get sick, and feel terrible. And, if you keep your immune system strong, and keep your body strong, and keep breathing, don’t hold your breath, and that’s my message for today guys.
