Giving Back Series: Central Texas Food Bank - West Lake Hills Physical Therapy - Austin Physical Therapy

As we’re approaching the holiday season, all of us at CORE want to take an opportunity to express some gratitude for our community of the outreach that is available for our fellow citizens. I would like to advocate and give a pat on the back for the Central Texas Food Bank. It was formerly known as Capital Area Food Bank. They’ve recently changed their name to reflect the fact that they help combat a huge problem in our Central Texas community, and that’s hunger.

We’ve got a lot of hungry people and we’ve got a lot of hungry children. They (CTFB) do a fabulous job. As we are gathering with our family and friends and enjoying meals and fellowship, and as you know, we love our food here at CORE, if you are looking for a way to positively affect someone in your community, I’ve done a couple of site visits and seen the fabulous outreach that Central Texas Food Bank does for this community. I wanted to give a personal attaboy for all of their efforts and let you know that it would be a worthy cause for any sort of aid that you’d like to pass along to them. https://www.centraltexasfoodbank.org/

Julie Fields

Julie began her Pilates practice in 2000 and soon realized that Pilates was exactly what her body needed to finally feel both strong and balanced. In 2007 she expanded her interest by completing a certification program through PhysicalMind Institute. At that time Julie was working in the public sector and teaching a few classes during the evenings and on weekends. Knowing she wanted to teach Pilates as her “act two career” Julie was a member of the Core Therapy’s inaugural teacher training program to expand her understanding of the Pilates method in physical rehabilitation. Julie completed the Pink Ribbon Pilates Program in 2012, a therapeutic application of Pilates for post-operative breast cancer recovery. In 2014 she completed Aston Kinetics foundation classes which provided skills in observing and assessing body movement patterns. Over the past year Julie completed training in GYROKINESIS® after seeing the results that this movement method provided in joint mobility and strengthening.

Julie is passionate about helping clients find their best body for function and health and thinks Pilates and GYROKINESIS® are smart ways to achieve both.
