7 Take Aways From a DISCOVERY SESSION With a Physical Therapist at CORE…

Hey guys, what’s up? It’s Stephen here from CORE Therapy & Pilates… it’s such a gorgeous day outside I wanted to come out and and do another quick video today. I was just answering an email and as I wrote this email out, I was like oh, this actually is a pretty decent blog…

We’ll go over the seven things that people get in their Discovery Session with us, which is our free consult that allows them to make a better decision about their health moving forward…

1: What caused their back pain in the first place? Hopefully we’re able to determine, through the assessment, how serious it is… know for certain what needs to be done about it…

2: Will physical therapy actually help what’s going on with that back condition? Will it actually help and with that assessment we’ve certainly found that things here and there that are not appropriate for physical therapy… but if we do everything and we screen everything correctly the whole purpose of the discovery is that it’s a it’s a good fit when people show up there…

3: How long will it last? Will the treatment last for a few days, will it last for months, will it last for years? Again, that’s part of the assessment and then part of how much of the home program are you going to do? How much of the plan are you going to complete?…

4: What type of treatments will be actually needed? If you don’t get the therapy, will it be pain pills? Will it be injections? Will it be surgery? If you learn what we teach you, will you apply it and make it a part of your life?…

5: How many physical therapy sessions will it take? So with the assessment, I can typically determine the amount of sessions required to meet the discussed goals. Ok this is going to take four or five PT sessions followed by a month of training or its going to take three PT sessions or this is going to take eight or ten sessions and we can determine that again with the discovery session…

6: What is the cost to you? We’re able to say, it’s going to cost this, it’s going to take this many sessions, this is the cost per session and then we go over the different options that we have available. Pay up front and get a discount… Pay as-you-go… or pay out in a monthly payment plan that we can set up as well…

7: What else can be done and by whom to speed up the natural healing process? What I mean by that is, I get things started but my plan incorporates getting strong and learning how to breathe correctly and getting improved core strength and postural awareness and that comes in from my trainers.

Sometimes it’s coming in from trainers elsewhere, I had a lady the other day, she came in and she’s already working with a Pilates teacher across town. I’m going to get her started with the PT and normally she would see my Pilates trainer for a month after PT, but she’s going to go back to the trainer that she’s already worked with and she’s already comfortable with. I’m going to help guide her along that path and help communicate with the trainer so that everything that we do is continuing to move forward…

So that’s it, a little information about our discovery sessions… it’s a free 20 minute consult to determine if what you have going on with your back pain, your neck pain is actually something that we address and something that we can help. We lay out the plan, we lay out the cost and we go over all that right there upfront…

So that’s what I got for you today, I hope that makes sense, I hope you enjoyed the information and I’ll be coming at you real soon.

Enjoy this gorgeous day, it might be the last day for a vest needed in Austin this spring. Take care guys, have a fantastic one… bye-bye…
